Our Mission
The Agape Behavioral Center mission is to provide our clients and their families with the highest level of long-term wellness. By delivering compassionate care for the whole person, a sustainable way of life is well within reach for those struggling to manage their mental wellness.
Our Story
The name Agape is intentional. In its original meaning, agape is Greek for “a deep unconditional love,” a type of love that does not waver due to circumstances, history, or diagnosis. It is this spirit we bring to mental health care.
Agape Behavioral Health was developed to fill a void we perceived between what mental health treatment could be and what it often was. Many people were leaving treatment feeling processed instead of healed — stabilized on paper, yet continuing to struggle in their daily lives. We wanted to create something different. A place where clinical excellence and genuine human connection were not competitors, but rather worked together as the foundation of everything we do.
Today, Agape Behavioral Health provides a full continuum of care, from inpatient psychiatric services to outpatient services and aftercare, staffed by licensed clinicians, therapists, and psychiatrists who share a common commitment to the people they serve.
Our Approach
At Agape, we believe there is no such thing as one-size-fits-all treatment. Everyone who walks through our doors arrives with their own history, their own challenges, and their own goals. Because of this, our clinical team starts treatment with a thorough assessment that guides the development of an individualized treatment plan; one that addresses the whole person, not just their diagnosis.
Our programming draws upon a wide range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-informed approaches, and holistic practices designed to promote healing of the mind, body, and spirit. These therapeutic approaches are integrated into a coordinated care plan which evolves as the person progresses through treatment.
We also emphasize connection. Connection with our clinical team, peers in treatment, and with family members who play a significant role in long-term recovery. Our group therapy and family support programs reflect our understanding that healing rarely happens in isolation and that those who love someone in treatment also need support. Every clinical decision made at Agape is guided by a desire for long-term wellness, not just short-term stability.
